I would not move that just to paint a wall. I like a nice wood fire i do, we don't get many opertunities here though. it hardly gets cold enough. Not that we have a fire place here. its very uncommon in Queensland (certainly in modern builds) you get them in the older "queenslanders." If these still work. There are a few in our neighbourhood. However there are 1 or 2 of our neighbours that complain BITTERLY on all the local Facebook boards if you use a fire.

gets done when it gets done. We did our kitchen 4 years ago and the patch that they pulled cuboards off still has yet to be repainted.
