Boring Background

I'm Blingit. An Aussie SAHM who spends my life at the ballet studio with my kids and in my spare time i paint or do bling work on costumes, custom headpieces and things.

I can be a bit on and off again with my art, fits of activity where i finish more paintings in a week that i do in 5 months at other times. And costuming.. well thats seasonal too...

I had a hand injury 2 years ago that damaged the nerves in my painting hand. Its been a slow road and i think we are as good as we are going to get. It doesn't stop me completely, but it sure slows me down and 100% changes what i can do... Jar lids and scissors, and big brushes... Yeah ... nah.. And making Tutus will be something i never do again i think.. I just can't. But we move on.

Today's project is

Emergency headpieces for a duet solo that is tomorrow. A panicked studio mum messaged me late last night with a "our costume fell through... we have found these navy costumes... can you match something for them..."

im like... "sure... what style of these"

she picked a quick and cheep lace piece with a little bling and i made them up.

The costume is dark navy and very undecorated, so the headpieces needed to not bee too WOW. This is a hard job for me, Blingit being my name and nature... but here we are.

time... look... not long. 20 mins?

it was SO SO SO hard not to go to town on these and add loads of pretty bling... but the costume is so flat i simply could not do it... sigh...

Below you can see me selecting laces from the pile.. pretty stones that i didn't use.. lol and then the lace. the photos look crap.. but they WILL sparkle in the lights on stage.
