The craziest sounding single statement that a noble prize winning genius could say would be that the internet wouldn't have a greater effect than the fax machine did on the economy. Absolutely absurd. But, nevertheless, the hypothesis was indeed a very promising one. We won't have to look too far from ourselves to realize that within our own tiny circles we too did face such absurd thesis.
The first one would be "don't sit too close to the TV", but fast forward just one quick decade and now we are sticking our eyes into VR headsets submerging ourselves into the very own curse of closeness to a TV. Or the classic "playing computer games won't get you anywhere in life" and within a couple of years having premature teens bagging millions of dollars playing online games as a result of disappointing their parents by glueing themselves to the computers for hours straight to master a craft they were dearly passionate about.
From lectures of staying away from slrandom people and not getting into a strangers car to literally riding an uber from an app and swiping to get laid by brining someone home. I wonder do the boomers feel more destroyed and terrible about how wrong their predictions turned out or more about how much they ransacked the economy and environment. My guess is none, since they are far more busy laughing at memes on the very facebook they once biblically commanded us to sign off from.
The internet literally has changed the epic of humanity, itself. And with time it's only getting more integrated into our lives. Inb4 neuroalink x cybernet. spooky. But we won't discuss that today.
With the recent epidemic I became more aware to the various and easy to implement internet systems we have been ignoring for a very long time and for no good reason. Like e-learning programs that could forever improve the education system and streamline it. The medical nethub that can relay stats, remedies and more in the flick of a second helping contain and resolve travasty in a matter of seconds. Or the diia app that is a direct link between people and government which is a great idea if you want the community and country to prosper, as well as the my pol app which is an online immediate hotline for emergency. Absolutely wonderful.
When I first started watching youtube I immediately found a few people whom I'd forever become a fan of. Watching then grow and prosper really showed me a lot about the world. There was one group that got together by bringing black comedians from the stand up bars to the youtube platform, because that was the way of the future. They named themselves alldefdigital, and I can surely say with all going alon around me that all is definitely digital.
