After a stressful day at work, you would think I would go home, take a shower, eat and get ready for bed. At least that is what I should do but that is most certainly not what I do. For this Weekend's Engagement topic I will share how I unwind after a stressful day at work.
How do you unwind after a hectic day at work? Meditation, a hobby, reading, listening to music, cooking, yoga, gaming, an intimate interlude? Tell us how you relax and unwind and why you feel that method is the most beneficial to you.
Like I said earlier it would be logical to get proper rest when I get home from a stressful day. However, the habit I have formed over time will not let me do that. Basically, in a day I have 3 things to achieve, go to my day job, keep up with my friends/activities on hive and create crochet pieces. Hence, my day never really ends until I hit the bed.
So, I will share how I “unwind” after work. The first thing I do when I get home after work is to lay down for at least 15 minutes, it helps with my back. After that, I get up and take a shower, it relaxes my body and then I play candy crush for another 30 minutes while listening to my favourite playlist.
After I have done all of this, my body would have been a bit relaxed from the day’s work and so it will be time to start the night work - which is crochet. Although I do not consider it as work, majorly because I love to do it, you can call me a crochet addict, it seems more like a guilty pleasure than work. Also, I get to work at my pace and give my creativity time to show face.
Usually, I would either be starting a new project or working on an unfinished one, either way, I do that for the next 3 hours, of course, I always watch a movie while doing this. So, it doesn’t necessarily feel like work, besides I get to work at my pace without pressure. Well, when I am satisfied with what I have done for the night, I eat dinner, have a chat with my partner for some minutes and go to bed.
The way I unwind works best for me, that way I feel like I am being productive while still giving my body some time to relax. I do not think I am ready to change anything in the way I spend my evenings, I don’t even think I can but I love it.
