Hello everyone! It's a beautiful day and I am excited that it's Friday. Today I will be sharing this recent halter top I made with a smiley emoji. The inspiration for this top is my need to remind myself to always smile no matter what.
When I started this top I was going to make different kinds of emojis and just decorate them with all my favorite emojis. Along the line, I realized my favorite one is the smiley emoji and I wanted to stick to that.
The process of making this top is the same as any halter top. However, I did start from the top instead of the bottom. Usually, when I make a halter top, I like to use the measurement from the torso and reduce it as I go, this time I used the measurement from my neck and increased it as I went.
To begin this top I used a 3.5mm hook and make a chain of 5 inches for the neck area, then I worked regular double crochets in all the chains - this whole project was made with double crochet stitches. I increased on both sides of every row as I went to provide enough coverage and on some rows, I increased in the middle too.
Toward the end, I made a little design at the bottom. I don't know exactly what it's called but it's a mixture of shell and an upside-down triangle shape I guess. Then I did the edges and added the straps.
After that, it was time to make some pretty little smiley emojis. I did a total of 3 smiley emojis and then attached them to the front of the halter top, as usual, the back of the top will be crisscrossed and with that, I was done with the top.
