Hello everyone. I wanted to do something different, so I decided to go with this hive-inspired crochet halter top.
I started this top early last week. I couldn't finish on time because I had a really busy week. I will leave the steps below to achieve this top, I hope you like the final look.
Materials
Any medium weight yarn (I used 100% acrylic yarn in the colours Red and white)
Size 3.5mm crochet hook.
Terms
Rw - row
Hdc - half double crochet.
SC - single crochet
The top is worked from the bottom to the top. I wanted it to be a cropped top, so to begin I measured my torso, which was 25 inches. I took out 5 inches to serve as the area for the straps.
Rw 1: I started with a chain of 90, which amounted to 20 inches when stretched. Then I worked regular HDC in every chain till the end of row 1.
Rw 2: Chain 1 turns the project over and works regular HDC in Every stitch.
I repeated this till RW 11 which was 3 inches.
Rw 12- I did a decrease on both sides. To do this we skip the first stitch and the last stitch.
Rw 13 - I did regular HDC
I repeated Rw 12 and 13, till I got to Rw 24.
I had earlier made a graphgan with the hive logo (you can do this on stitch fiddle).
I customized the settings to make the graphgan fit into 15 rows and 20 columns.
So for the next 15 rows - Rw 25 - Rw 39 I followed the pattern on the graphgan using tapestry crochet while simultaneously continuing my pattern of decrease.

After the 15th Rw, I then proceeded to do extra 4 rows to finish my halter top while still decreasing the number of stitches.
For the finishing, I did 2 rows of SC on the sides to make the edges neater.
