Every day lately it seems folks are frothing at the mouth to purchase toys by the boatload at our shop Conquest Comics. Be it for Holiday gifts, personal collections, or some bathtub action (maybe?!?)…toys have been a hot commodity.
Honestly, collectibles in general have seen a crazy influx ever since the ol’ Coronavirus entered into the picture. At least in our field, there are lots of reasons for the surge. Stimulus money and unemployment benefits definitely contributed. As did the fact that all of the big conventions were cancelled. Ya know…the ones that folks save up thousands to blow on their favorite pop culture wants?!? Those piles of cash and pent up wants has to be funneled somewhere….
But I think one of the largest contributing factors is the simple point that lots of folks were simply bored and looking forward something to do during the lockdowns. We actually had lots of customers tell us so as they blew their Stimmy.
Regardless as to the reasons of WHY this hobby is seeing a tasty boom, the fact is that toys right now…are absolute plastic gold. We’ve also been hearing rumblings of potential toy shortages for the Holiday shopping season. With all the ships stuck out at the ports and the supply chains interrupted all over the place, we are trying to prep the shop for the holiday surge and not be caught off guard.
Therefore, my guy Jason and I have been powerhousing on restocking, reorganizing, and reshuffling the front of the shop. Between Funko Pops and Action Figures, I’d estimate that we have brought out well over 1000 random pieces from the abyss in the back over the past couple of weeks. That’s a lot of toys that range in price from $12 all the way up to a couple hundred bucks!
Currently on the floor as it comes to toys, there are over 7000 Funko Pops, over 5000 carded action figures, over 3000 loose figures, and just over 1200 statues and busts…all unique with no doubles. I always hate seeing pegs and pegs of the same toys. I like variety.
With that, I hope you enjoy taking a look at the fun array of product we have at Conquest!!! See anything you want? Just hit me up!!!
