I share my business Conquest Comics with my longtime friend and business partner Pete. Everything in the shop is 50/50…except for these statue cases here. These beauties here strictly belong to me.
When we first opened up, we were fairly light on inventory. Hard to imagine now as we are bursting at the seams, but early on we were fairly sparse in some departments. Notably…statues and busts. Luckily, I was a big time statue collector and had quite to collection.
I decided to load up the shop with some cases choc full of statues and mini busts from my private collection. Over the years pieces have come and gone, and whenever one sells from one of my cases, those funds go directly in my pocket. My partner has a couple of cases that solely belong to him as well although I was definitely a bit more hardcore as you can see with my 8 cases compared to his 2.
Anywho…I noticed the other day that my cases were looking a little light as we’ve been moving some pieces at a rapid rate due to holiday shopping fever. So I’m deciding to restock from the pile of nonsense still sitting in my house/shed/basement/attic etc…
So throughout the week, I’m going to try to hunt down some pieces to load these cases back up to respectability. Today I’ll start with this chunk. Spoiler alert…I’m an idiot.
I started off with just a handful of mini busts mostly consisting of Bowen Designs pieces. The first thing I noticed as I was loading up the case was that I brought some doubles. Weak sauce! I tried to pluck pieces from memory but I guess with 1200 plus pieces, there’s bound to be some errors. Back to the dungeon doubles of Savage Dragon, Deathlok & Weapon X…
The rest were all welcome additions!
Bowen Designs Ghost Rider Mini Bust
Bowen Design She-Hulk Mini Bust
Diamond Select Chrome Silver Surfer Mini Bust
Palisades Powdered Toast Man Mini Bust
Bowen Designs Blue Quicksilver Mini Bust
Palisades Alien Mini Bust
It only filled up a few spaces as I seriously underestimated just how much shit I need to fill these back up. So I’ll be plucking more throughout the week. I’m guessing I probably need a good 30 plus pieces to make a dent in the empty spots. Back to the search…
