About 2 years back, my pops made the decision to move him and my mom from their large 2 story 5 bedroom Colonial style home, I to a much more manageable 1 story Ranch. At the time, things were progressing more with my mom’s dementia and other issues so all of the work was falling onto my dad. That’s a lot for anyone to handle and I’m surprised he stayed there as long as he did.
Their house was the party house. It’s where we all threw get togethers as the yard is large and spacious with a big beautiful pool. Lots of fun there. He ended up moving about 2 minutes away so he’s still right there which is good. What’s even better is that my sister Marcia was looking into getting into a different home so she worried it out with my dad and bought the house from him. So it’s still in the family. Yay!
My dad naturally left tons of stuff for various reasons...the main one being lack of space in the new crib. One of the things left in what is now Marcia’s house, were several large Thomas Kinkade paintings. Not originals, but limited prints or whatever. All in nice frames. He said the kids could choose one each, and that time is now coming.
I hope there is no fighting or arguing amongst us. I think we are going to try to hammer that all out sometime in the coming weeks. I’m 99.9% sure of which one I want, but just Incase one of my other siblings has their heart set on the same one, I’d like to have a backup ready Incase I cave.
I snapped a few pics of them a couple weeks back so I could give em a closer look on my own time. These are not quality photos...I did them in a hurry one day when there so don’t expect greatness. To be honest, if you’ve ever come to my blog for greatness then you need your head examined. Anyway...here we go...
This first one here with the Castle is my number 1 pic. I’ve always loved this one and I’ve been fascinated with Castles for as long as I can remember. No brainer for me.
If for whatever reason that does not pan out and I have to make a different selection, this is where I’m torn. I think this next one would be my number two...then after that I’m kinda at a loss. I’m really hoping my sisters don’t push back as if honestly be a bit bummed not being able to hang the Castle one in my home somewhere. What’s your thoughts?!?
