A few days ago, a gentleman popped into my shop (Conquest Comics) in need of some quick cash. With him was 2 badass statues from Sideshow Collectibles....the Scarecrow & the Joker.
These both came out within the past few years and are both the Sideshow Exclusive versions of the statue which usually comes with some extra accessory. Joker retailed for $535 and was limited to 650 pieces while Scarecrow sold for $620 and was limited to 500 pieces.
I’ve had the regular version of the Scarecrow before but it sold immediately. While I’d love to have these as they are big conversation pieces, we currently have over 1200 different statues and busts on display in the shop already...so I didn’t want to overpay.
Along with the 2 statues were a couple of odds and ends consisting of a few Funko Pops, Funko Soda, and a Mortal Kombat Spawn figure.
I let the gent plead his case and throw out an asking price to which he replied “around $600”.
“Around” tells me there’s a little wiggle room, so I dug out 5 crisp $100 dollar bills, laid em out on the counter, and before I could even begin my pitch...he said “sure” and snatched it up.
He didn’t get into too much detail but mentioned that his bank screwed something up and he’s now short much needed cash...hence the quick sale. I hope he gets that straightened out. But for now, these 2 Bat baddies will will have a temporary home on our display cases until they find a new (hopefully) forever home.
