My name is Eli. I joined steemit June 4th
I'm not religious, but I'm not pretentious about it, whatever floats your boat as long as it doesn't sink mine.
I teach safety courses as an aside to my carpentry, I enjoy the challenge of an audience and the pulpit. I have a dark sense of humor, but not a malicious one.
I'm really bored on a plane to Vegas as I write this, so this may become rather long winded.
Most of the writing I do
Is free form, streaming
Of conscience.
It has a pulse sporadic
That is based on feeling
More then pedantic.
My favorite writer is Robert W. Service, though I seldom rhyme. Of his works, I'm especially fond of 'Rhymes of a Rolling Stone.'
I enjoy music ranging from blues through the early rock and country it inspired, through the psychedelic and punk, the Ska to Grunge back to garage. Some of my favorite songs to sing along with are Freight Train Blues by Bob Dylan, Feeling Groovy by Simon and Garfunkel, and Hotel Yorba by The White Stripes.
My Favorite films are Buffalo '66 and National Lampoons Loaded Weapon 1.
It's not often I am given chance to interview myself, am I still on form?Is this listing listless and dull? How does one truly craft an introduction which will effectively illustrate the man behind the brow ridge?
Should I list my triumphs or downfalls? Achievements or vices? I can speak German and I chew my nails. I quit smoking again and I've been to the Louvre twice. I was a model in my youth and I dislike drivers who hover in my blind spot. I was adopted when I was six and I'm allergic to amoxicillin.
If I shook your hand to introduce myself, you'd think
He's about 6'3",
And depending on your own height that may leave an impression.
My eyes are blue, and I look at people's eyes when I talk.
I'm a father, and a husband, these positions affect my values, I try my best to fulfill the duties of each.
I like video games, have been with Xbox since the first original Xbox magazine. Currently I have an Xbox One, gamer tag is bleedpoet, you don't have to add me, generally I may get half an hour a day to play, if even.
I have a dog named Zema, she is a border collie/scotch collie that just turned 3. It is easier to introduce my dog than myself.
I grew up in a town of 250 in the country side, travelled Europe instead of going to college, lived ten years in Toronto before getting married and buying a house in a quieter city.
I'm 33. I'm still on that flight to Vegas. My legs are sore, I am alone. It's my third trip to Vegas. I've done a bit of traveling, I have no idea how many flights I've been on at this point. I've lost count. I've been to Europe three times, India once, Montreal, Vancouver, a bunch of the states.
On planes I wish I wasn't 6'3"
But should an introduction be more about what you want to know and less about me?
I guess that's where the comments come in, I'm an open book, quite honestly, if I have something to hide its been hidden from me for awhile, so feel free to ask what you will if you have made it this far. If you read this on a plane perhaps you have made it as far as me, or farther depending on the winds.
[full disclosure: as I post this I am no longer on the plane, and had a chance to send it to @brian-rhodes and
@dan-atstarlite to proof read as they were the ones who turned me on to this community. It turns out I'd used a 'then' rather than 'than' which I have subsequently corrected. Also, I just got home... Exhausted]
