What is it about Easter Eggs? They taste nicer than normal chocolate as they have that extra coating on them. I am not sure if they are a big thing in every part of the globe. I know the Polish paint real eggs. What good is that?? Getting an Easter Egg is all part and parcel of life here in Ireland and it's heaven if you are a child to be getting all that chocolate at 9am on a Easter Sunday morning. Jesus Christ is the last thing on a little trolls mind when they are tucking into a giant chocolate egg.

So as a father it is his job to buy the eggs. You sort the kids out first and then the wife. That's the order. When that is all done you buy a cheeky one for yourself.
So thank god I purchased ours last week. And when I say I purchased them I am telling a lie. My wife being all organised knew I would leave it until the last minute bought the Easter Eggs for everybody including herself and her favourite egg sells out first.
Easter eggs are sold out in Ireland and it is only Thursday so panic is setting amongst the male population to buy their wife an egg. Cadbury's is a famous chocolate brand in the UK and Ireland and has been even seen in places like Australia. Cadbury's is actually beautiful. I get shivers when someone mentions a Cadburys Dairymilk. It probably is the nicest chocolate about. So the popular eggs that are not the cheapest or the most expensive sell out first. This leaves us men in a predicament. Spend €30 euro on a posh egg like Lindt or Butlers or some other uppity brand or buy the small egg with the free mug. The free mug is not an option because you would get the mug across the head and have a silent Easter if you bring that home so the posh egg it is.
This is a reason there is a rush on the Cadbury's egg. Cadbury's do lots of eggs all after their famous bars. Cadburys Carmel Egg, Twirl, Moro, Buttons, Cadbury's Roses Eggs, Mini Egg Eggs to name just a few. But when eggs start running out , the same old Cadbury's eggs end up left. The infamous Timeout Egg, Cream Egg Egg or The Picnic Egg. The dregs of the egg world.
My favourite egg is not Cadbury's however. I end up going Nestle for my eggs. The famous Galaxy Bar Egg. I just love Galaxys and the Galaxy egg tastes like Galaxy chocolate obviously. The bonus is the egg gives you a Galaxy Ripple bar, 2 x Galaxy Carmel and normal Galaxy which is why I like getting this egg. It leaves you in chocolate for a week.
Cadburys are now after changing the game with the new white chocolate Oreo Egg which I am heading out to find after I finish this post. Get in my belly!! It looks amazing. The Milky Bar kid must be shitting himself.
The posh eggs I find are too dam rich for me and my delicate belly and after a quarter of a Lindt Egg I am not feeling the may west. Maybe it is the richness of them or I was brought up not eating the finer chocolate as the Animal Bar was the chocolate of choice back then. I am not quite sure. I would rather eat a bottom of the barrel egg than a posh egg myself. You know that chocolate that tastes a bit cheap like cooking chocolate. If the two eggs were put in front of me I would eat the cheap one.

We do an Easter Egg hunt with the little ones and the eggs we use are unbranded cheap eggs, around the size of a Creme Egg and hide them on the kids. They head off around the garden with their baskets and pick up as many as they can find. I was cutting the grass the other day when I came across an unfound one from long ago. Last April or maybe the year before that. Who knows. It doesn't matter.
"Jimmemy Cricket." "What Treasure Awaits?" I turned around to see if anyone was watching me pick the out of date egg up from behind the bench under the tree.
"Best case scenario , sweet sweet chocolate"
"Worst case Scenario , a good clear out of my insides, a factory reset so to speak, never a bad thing."
"Coast is clear, Down The Hatches, mmmmm sweet sweet nectar of the gods."
And I didn't even get the runs!! Magical.
So on that note what is your favourite Easter Egg?
