A couple of weeks ago I was researching the old three tune Tuesday on a Monday night, beer in hand, wife gone to bed, head phones on and I was listening to a few tunes. There was this initiative organised by famous Irish musician Damien Rice and his gang and it was trialed in a place called the Funkhaus in Berlin. So it involves a famous artist put in a room and the organisers kidnap someone from the main audience at the festival. They blindfold them and bring them to a quiet room and then the famous artist sing to them and them alone. Now the most famous one of these is by the Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon. He actually did two but below is the best one.
You truly realise how good these artists are when you just leave them in an empty room with a guitar and their voice. Bon Iver are special but Justin Vernon is a genius. It's interesting to see these famous artists are a bit nervy playing in front of one person. Don't ask me about the bell on your ones head is for at the start.

So I was quite taken aback by these weird One on One sessions but one guy was at these sessions in Germany called Henning Mai and I couldn't get over how good his voice was. This is his One on One. He was nervous himself so he asked the blindfold to remain on the lady who was kidnapped. I was happy to learn as well that she did not have an iota who this guy was but she would be looking him up like myself. The guy is only a young lad but it looks like his body can't pull off his voice which I always find very funny.
So I looked this guy up and he is the lead singer of a famous German band called AnnenMaiKantereit who are big in the motherland. Now some of their songs are actually very very good but I was more focused on Henning himself. Henning is best mates with the boys from Milky Chance who I am a big fan. I remember hearing a cover they did once in some building site and I remembered it was Henning Mai singing in that cover. The Police classic "Roxanne". Have a listen to this bad boy. I quite like the milky chance slant on it. Clemens Rehbein's voice is weird at the start but I quite like it. Milky chance do an excellent Pixies cover as well.
He also did one of the best covers of the Beatles song Come Together that I have ever heard. He has some set of lungs on him this boy. I would be interested to hear so of the German Hive community on this guy as I know he can fill stadiums out there.
Now I am aware that 2 out of his three songs are covers. So I will add one of their own songs to the mix which is a German one called "Oft Gefragt" which I liked. I lived in aul Deutschland for a few years and the music is not that bad actually. They love the Eurovision but we can forgive them for that. This one is a good one.
