So you are now considered a whale by Steemit and you just posted a blog about a kidney bean and after 30 minutes you get 1400 upvotes totalling around 800 dollars. Your food bill for the month of July and August has been fully funded by this one post about the said kidney bean. "How many tins of beans could you buy for this? " you wonder with a smile
You go to the comment section. 320 comments. Every motherfucker loves kidney beans. There are kidney bean recipes (mainly chilli con carne), someone makes a little matchstickman from a kidney bean. Another guy dresses up as a kidney bean and does a little dance on Dtube. The things people do for an upvote. Some intelligent guy writes an entire history of the kidney bean in a blog and links it onto your comments. Some words in it you have never seen before in your life. You hate these kind of guys. If they were that intelligent they would of got in early. You look at this guys wallet. 17 SP. Makes you feel good about yourself.

Dance my pretties, dance. One 100% upvote from you is around 100 quid. You were lucky to get in at ICO level. Iota made you thousands from a 100 quid investment. Then you put it into Steemit at 5 cent per share and it took off. You didn't really know what you were doing but you chose the right coin twice. In crypto picking two mooncoins can make you a millionaire. You made your own luck. Your family still doesn't know what you are worth. But Steemit is addictive, very addictive. No way are you powering down. You prefer your new life.

Back to your comments . There is the usual , "please follow me", "please upvote me", "re-steem me" .The brave 25 rep's are getting in with their comments and upvotes. You like that about them. Aim high. You may throw this guy an upvote. He has a funny profile photo and his comment was cheeky but not needy. Fuck it 1% upvote. Easy dollar for him. But now I have a follower for life to add to my kidney bean upvotes. The rich get richer.
Steemfest is only around the corner. You remember the last meetup. When people found out who you were, friends were made very easily. You were never more popular. That never happened before. Drinks came fast and you even ended up scoring a girl (45 rep not bad). You will 100% upvote some of her posts in the morning. She was so easy to talk to and she wants to go out with you. Bit hard as she lives on the other side of the world.
This is unbelievable. A couple of years ago you were an IT student with not much going for you and now you are a whale on steemit. Life is good. You go on Discord . 300 people say hello to you in an instant. You come back off Discord. Everyone loves you but its a pain. Maybe you will just delegate some of my SP to a project or bot to do the work for you but you do enjoy the social experience. A friend texts and you put down the laptop. There is a knock on the bedroom door.
"DANIEL ARE YOU THERE ? I ASKED YOU TO DO THE VACUUMING AND ITS STILL NOT DONE!!"
"LATER MUM. I'M HEADING OUT WITH MY FRIENDS"

You meet your friends for coffee. You have a conversation about a political issue. One of your friends disagrees with you. You get uncomfortable as normally your opinion is the right opinion. How you wish Steemit rules applied in the coffee shop. Flags all around my friend. Good luck coming back from your -8 rep. But this is not Steemit. This is a good friend of yours, WAS a good friend. Not anymore. You now don't like criticism. 3708tatiji is now a better friend. Wonder how he's doing. Rep of 65. Not too bad. You give your excuses and leave the coffee shop muttering "fucking plankton" under your breath. You go back home, do the vacuuming calling your mother a minnow in disgust with the chores. If I powered down 10% of my steempower I could afford a housekeeper for a decade! Maybe I will Twenty minutes later you jump on the laptop and write a blog about the political issue from the coffeeshop . 750 upvotes. 100 comments . Everyone agrees. You breathe a sigh of relief.
