The wedding cake was supposed to be a dream in white, flavored with passion fruit – and decorated with a “waterfall of flowers”.
The result was a disappointment.
To put it mildly.
The Belgian couple received a crooked cake, skimpy on buttercream and stale fruit.
The “exotic” cake cost almost $800. But it would turn out that the price was the only thing that was on top.
The wedding cake was a complete failure – the bakery’s answer to the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Like other couples, Medya Hevin Polat and her boyfriend Lillo from Liège, Belgium, wanted their wedding day to be something special.
The cake, for example. The couple turned to a pastry chef who claims to be an expert in party cakes and who constantly posts his perfect creations on social media.
"Disaster” – the pastry chef’s apology
The pastry was supposed to be flavored with passion fruit and mango and decorated with edible flowers.
There were four layers.
But otherwise the cake was something a preschool class could have baked. The cake was crooked and the buttercream barely covered it in places.
– The guests even said to me: “It’s a joke. Where’s the real cake?”, she tells Sudinfo.
– It’s unbelievable that the baker delivered it like this. We saw it too late, otherwise we would have ordered a new cake.
Now the bride Medya Hevin Polat shares the tragic cake on Facebook and writes, among other things:
Ordered: A floral, elegant cake.
Received: A sloppy disaster, without decorations, with questionable taste.
In a text message conversation, the pastry chef apologizes. But the couple has not received any money back.
