There was I, in the dark... shaking like I was in the middle of a body earthquake... all covered in sweat, wishing for someone to bring me a cold bottle of water. Fever, I had fever thanks to the flu my friend gave me 3 days ago. You see, when I get fever I see weird things... hallucinations are the besties of my fever and oh boy, they sure knows how to play with my mind!
Shadows moving from one place to another, glimpses of human faces wrapped in grey smoke looking at me.... that eerie feeling you're not alone in your room, a very unpleasant feeling when you're sick and can't move cause all your molecules hurt!
"It's the fever, there's nothing in there"... I reminded myself from time to time to re-ensure my feverish brain all were fine. A weird "boom" noise echoed in my room and after that the weirdest squawk I had ever heard in my life.
"What the hell was that? A duck? No, there's no duck here and they definitely does not sound like that!"
"QUAAAARRRRKRRRR!!" - squawk the thing again in a very loud and violent way.
"The fuuuuuuuuuuuu?! That thing is outside my window!"
Suddenly something started banging on my window... bang, bang, baaaaaang!.... I felt frozen, I stopped shaking, the shadows in my room stopped moving, the smoke faces disappeared.... another "boom" noise made the room shake and then a soft squawk with just 1 tiny window bang.... then silence.... cold, awkward, weird silence.
I stopped shaking. The thirst was gone... the creepy shadows abandoned the room with that last "qwarkr". My eyes were wide opened, the room was clear... like if moonlight entered the place but there was no moon outside. I felt a relaxing breeze entering my window, caressing me, making me feel less uncomfortable.
"Its the fever"... - I told to myself - "There's nothing in there!"
