And when you think about it, they're not broke. Their families just need to budget better and, unless the alliance went and confiscated all that they owned, and stripped them bare, or that Quy did such, which is what a Deregger would do, they still have their original bank accounts, homes, and all their possessions that they started with.
I read the story, and it's not like he went and stripped them and threw them into the streets. He likely paid a lot to buy out those businesses meaning the families have THAT money as well. It's just that they no longer have the authority to boss people around, it seems, that the teens are really throwing fits about.
