They were the child of THE wealthiest people in the entire alliance. And yet, all they wanted was to live a quiet life with their friends. Sadly, there were those Deregger tourists that came in, and were mean to their friends just because their friends didn't have as much time. Well, time to teach these Dereggers a lesson in respect! --Anon Guest
Freaking... arrogant people who thought they were above everyone else. They were the worst. Every summer season, they came to the Paradise Resorts and made a pain of themselves. These ones had done the unforgivable.
They had hurt Quy's friends.
They could ignore the usual Deregger-level horseshit, but this particular crew had gone out of their way to humilliate Quy's clique because they took a disliking to the shade of Quy's skin. The shitheads.
What they didn't know about Quy was about to hurt them. Badly.
Quy had some "play money" from their parents, who owned several resort planets. Well, their corporation owned it all, and as a courtesy worker, Quy had some significant reserves to mess around with and discover how the economy worked. As part of their education.
So Quy tracked down the mean kids and purchased their parent's businesses. Changing the command structure and operating procedures to fit into Alliance rules. They also readjusted the pay rates and perks.
The mean group was very upset that they couldn't access all the things that suddenly cost too much for their family to afford. They suddenly had to have a more common type of fun.
Quy and their friends were hanging out in the butterfly park when the snobs approached. They weren't as confident as they used to be. They looked scared. They looked like they were deciding who most deserved to become the spokesnob.
Quy smirked in spite of themself. That much power felt good. They couldn't let it ride, because that way lead to Deregger levels of corruption. "Have you learned something?"
"Please. We need all that money you took from us?"
"Do you?" said Quy. "My friends and I never needed to do all the things you and your friends think you need to do. We just never wanted to. All that money is paying employees fair wages, funding their medical interventions, and upgrading their houses to Alliance standards."
"We're ruined!" One of the snobs bawled.
"That'd mean you'd be living like one of your parents' employees, before I took over," said Quy. "You still have a home. You can still pay for transit. You can get medical care for way less than it cost this morning. All you need to do is tone down your shopping habit and stop shoplifting. You're already due for a week in remedial therapy."
"What? We can't be criminals. We're rich."
"Not any more," said Quy. "And I can prove you set up the thing that hurt Jules. It's not tecnically criminal, but you all need to learn that bad actions have bad consequences."
Quy and their friends decided to go on the donkey rides, leaving the snobs crying about their sad state of affairs.
