You're 100% correct. I mean it's fine to stockpile toiletries, but when those run out, then what? You can't exactly run to the local store. So, learn how to make things like soap and thin, fine, toilet paper and other supplies. Learn to spin wool and fur into cloth, tan hides, hunt, fish, and grow food, then process and preserve it. Not be taught what to think, but rather, how to think for one's self. Problem is, people don't want to learn these things. They see people who learn such, and put in emergency supplies, as being foolish and paranoid. Ignoring the fact that most emergency supplies WILL run out. Esp. if the person decides to be generous and use those supplies for others. Hence "Do you know how to grow... well here let me teach you". The saddest part is, esp. many of those living in big cities, they don't want to know how to grow anything. Many, not all. All those individuals want is status quo.
