At one point in our life, we have been saved by rough and tough times that seem everything is just about to capsize. We feel we should just give up living and this circumstance most times when it comes leads us to emotional trauma. Emotional trauma as many of us have heard can be defined as a disordered psychological or behaviour resulting from severe mental or emotional stress or physical injury.
It is normal for human beings to react to circumstances either in the form of fear, happiness, sadness or anger, frustration, discouragement or many more. But most people are not able to control the effect that those circumstances offer and so it leads to many Emotional Trauma. People who suffer emotional trauma are those who have been through cases like rape or sexual assault, or battle, who watched their loved ones die before their very eyes, who had a hard time staying with an abusive parent, relative or partner and several other causes to mention but a few. These alone are enough to cause and often lead to what is known as post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms.
Sometimes traumatic symptoms go within a week or less but some last up to a month or even more, those which tend to last longer are known as post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms and they may interfere with the person's association with people, work and physical activities. People with emotional trauma suffer symptoms like feelings of extreme sadness, not being able to concentrate, insomnia, anxiety and feeling irritated easily.
Enough of the introduction, let's dive into the main aspect of the post which is on How To Overcome Emotional Trauma. The aim is not only for me to talk about emotional trauma without not giving us the main tips on how you can work on overcoming it. Emotional trauma can be dangerous if not tackled at an early stage.
The first is for you to know the cause of your trauma. Like I always say, the source of a problem has already solved the problem 50%. Knowing the event that made you start feeling that way might help you to recover. Ask yourself when you started panicking, feeling sad, anxious or in pain, note the event and do a critical analysis of yourself but don't judge yourself.
The second tip to overcome emotional trauma which I will recommend is for you to Talk to Someone. This is the stage or tip many people don't obey which is killing them. Do not make the mistake of dying in silence tell someone how you feel, the cause and the symptoms you have. Do not isolate yourself from people as it will give you more time to be moody or think more.
Realiza tus Rutinas Diarias.
The mistake you will be making is for you to think alcohol or drinking can help you overcome your emotional trauma. It is not true. Do Not make the mistake of Resolving Into Alcoholism. Instead of solving the problem, I can assure you that it will worsen the situation. Do not turn to find a solution from taking alcohol or drugs as this makes your condition worse and the consequences of addiction that follow thereafter are dangerous to your health.
The last tip I will recommend is for you to Eat Well and Rest Well. Maintain healthy eating habits during this period, avoid skipping meals or eating junk, and try to get enough sleep too. Run Your Daily Routines. Sometimes when facing a traumatic challenge, doing your normal activities might prove to be very difficult, but doing them even when you don't feel like helps you feel better.
If the matter continues to be worse, I will implore you to Seek Medical Attention. If the traumatic symptoms persist for a long period and no other option works, it is best to seek help from a trained traumatic-based doctor. Now care must be taken when handling a traumatic person, be patient with them and give them time to explain and tell you how they are coping with their situation, give them time to heal and bear with them when they still exhibit certain characteristics. Care should be taken in diagnosis and treatment too as wrong diagnosis can worsen the condition of the person. when you are traumatized it is not the best time to isolate yourself, get involved in community activities, look for help and let go of the past if there is any unpleasant one, try to meditate and remain calm.
