Hey guys, do you know about this new update? I invite you to see the article published by splinterlnads

My take on it is that with these new sets of reward cards, Rebellion is an exciting and well thought out update that promises to keep players engaged and excited. The changes introduced not only add new dimensions to the game but also ensure that the in-game economy remains balanced and sustainable.

The announcement of the new Rebellion reward card set in Splinterlands is exciting news for the gaming community. The transition from Chaos Legion reward cards to Rebellion reward cards marks the end of an era and the beginning of a new phase full of promise and gameplay changes. The introduction of these new cards and abilities ensures continued dynamism in the game, keeping players interested and engaged.

The addition of 12 common cards, 12 rare cards, 7 epic cards, and 12 legendary cards in the Rebellion set shows a considerable expansion of the Splinterlands universe. New abilities such as Mimic, Corrupted Healing, Execute, and Wingbreak are innovative and have the potential to change combat strategies. Mimic, for example, offers a dimension of unpredictability by allowing a card to gain random abilities from the enemy team, which can be a decisive factor in battles.

The concept of Debilitations introduces a new level of tactical complexity. Abilities that negatively affect allies, such as Incendiary, Electrified, and Weary, require careful and balanced planning. While these abilities do have drawbacks, they also come with benefits that can justify their use. This will add an additional layer of strategy to deck building and battlefield decisions.

The transition of Chaos Legion reward cards to an unbound state is another important aspect of the announcement. This feature allows players to sell, buy, rent, and trade these cards, increasing their utility and value. Additionally, the ability to use them as workers on land opens up new opportunities within the game's ecosystem.

The cost to unbind cards is based on power per BCX (Base Card eXperience), with fees varying based on the card's tier and rarity. This pricing system ensures that unbound cards maintain significant value on the market, preventing a flood of cheap cards that could devalue players' collections. This pricing structure seems well thought out to balance supply and demand.

The fact that the cost of unbinding increases every 30 days adds a sense of urgency for players who wish to take advantage of the lower fees. This tiered approach incentivizes players to make quick decisions about which cards to unbind, keeping a steady stream of DEC (Dark Energy Crystals) burned, which also benefits the game economy by reducing the supply of DEC in circulation.

Furthermore, the policy of burning all DEC spent on unbinding cards is an effective measure to control in-game inflation. By reducing the amount of DEC available, it helps maintain the value of this digital currency, which is crucial to the economic stability of the Splinterlands ecosystem.

Combining unbinded cards with linked cards presents an interesting additional dynamic. This mechanic ensures that players carefully consider how they handle their cards, as any combination will result in a linked card that will require an additional payment to be unbinded again. This adds a layer of strategy to the management of collections.

The fact that linked cards are burned by Glint and unlinked cards by DEC introduces a clear differentiation into the game's economy. This can have important implications for players' decision making about which cards to keep, burn, or combine, adding another level of depth to the game.

The introduction of new cards and abilities, along with changes to the reward card economy, reinforces Splinterlands' commitment to keeping the game fresh and challenging. These updates demonstrate a continued effort to innovate and improve the player experience, which is vital to the game's long-term success.

Reminder from the Splinterlands team:

The Rebellion reward cards are an exciting new expansion that introduces whole new levels of strategy and depths of lore to the Splinterlands. We can't wait for you to get your hands on them. The artwork is beautiful, the lore builds on the core set and Conflicts, and (most importantly) it's gonna be awesome when you use 'em to lay the smack down on your fellow battle mages in the arena!

And with the ability to unbind Chaos Legion's soulbound reward cards, you'll not only be able to sell, rent, trade, and delegate your cards or put them to work on land, but you'll finally be able to get those elusive cards lady luck denied you!
