Very often during nature walks, and usually it's beside the canal, I can see some really weird and unusual scenes! Many times so far I have thought of just sitting on a nearby bench and just waiting and watching who would pass on the other side of the canal.
Today, as I was walking, I noticed pigs on the other side of the canal that apparently went for a walk, too. It is not uncommon to see a variety of animals in nature, but pigs do not. A long time ago there were a lot of wild hogs in this area but over time they were completely exterminated.
What made the scene even more interesting was that the adult pigs were not alone but with the pigllets that accompanied them. I joked with acquaintances who were with me at the time that it would be more than fantastic that one day to see elephants walking in peace instead of the usual animals. While we were still laughing, the pig owner showed up looking for the escaped pigs!
