Over the past few days the temperature has dropped to 1° C, and the icy wind is making the situation even worse. I have long been in the habit of taking walks by the canal every day, which is what I did today. I didn't expect to meet anyone on the canal, but to my surprise there were 4 people who, like me, couldn't stand spending all day in the house.
We took shelter from the wind where the gusts of wind could not reach us, but still it was quite cold. We just stood and talked, joked with each other, etc. , someone suggested we light a fire, we quickly accumulated dry branches that could be found nearby. We did something like a campfire, when the fire was well ignited, a circle was created around which it was quite pleasantly warm and none of us present hadn't intention to go home. We spent about 2-3 hours hanging around the fire and it was a dark when we decided to go home.
I don't know if you noticed that the fire had some hypnotizing effect, or at least it had on me. As always the camera was with me, I took the opportunity that I had and took some photos of the fire. The fire tongues moved from left to right creating some marvelous shapes. At one point, I realized that all of us were silently staring at the yellow red light, enjoying only the heat that was spreading in the circle we were creating. The only thing missing for the whole event to be complete is the 2-3 liters of white wine we would cook, but doesn't matter, we might correct this mistake on another occasion.
