Thank God, yesterday's day was very fruitful for me in photographic terms, because today it's raining all day! I made a pretty large amount of photos. I spent several hours following the butterfly that you can see on the attached photographs. This is a butterfly named Purple-edged copper (Lat. Lycaena hippothoe) from the Lycaenidae family.
As I walked looking for butterflies, I noticed it from a distance on a stem of high grass, its bright orange-red color is easily recognizable. Excited and happy, I immediately prepared the camera and slowly approached him.
I can not call myself a typical lepidopterist. For those who do not know, the lepidopterist is, according to all dictionaries: a person who studies or collects butterflies and moths!
My butterfly study is reduced to collecting basic data about species, I'm also not a person who physically collects butterflies, but instead photographs them, every butterfly from my photos is alive and well after the photo session.
I made maps of the areas where I was searching for butterflies and I marked places where I found a particular species. Throughout the year I visit and check these places regularly.
