Shopping malls have started with Christmas decorations, festive adverts appear on TV and after eating up all the Halloween sweets, we are entering the festive season.
But if you are working in retail and you are forced to listen to Christmas songs on constant loop for the next weeks, it might be bad for your mental health.
According to clinical psychologist Linda Blair on Sky News, she said that being exposed to Christmas songs all day could stop you focusing on anything else.
Other people, like Victoria Williamson (Psychology of Music) believe that listening to them all day may have a negative effect, psychological speaking of 'mere exposure effect." Meaning that while loving to hear "All I want for Christmas" every time during shopping, might ruin it when we should be feeling festive during December.
This being said - and of course I am writing this blog with a portion of irony - we should stick to our regular playlist until December...
