So if you been following along you know I got 2 servers one is a cheap old one I snagged that got me started and a more recent beefer server that I upgraded with a fairly decent graphics card.

Well it's pretty funny I was thinking of shutting down the old one and moving all the applications over...

Well today I wake up start messing with it and it's stupid slow I'm like strange I keep trying different things and investing, even a reboot doesn't seem to help at this point I suspect a hard drive fails in my Yolo raid setup...

I have 4 1tb SATA drives (I got them with the server) that is consumer grade hardware in a server setup far from ideal, but wait there is more !

On top of the questionable drives I set them up as a single raid drive so instead of having 4 individual drives the system sees one combined drive.

Shutting down for a few seconds and booting up did the trick but really goes to show you that you can really be relying on consumer hardware to perform well in a server environment, servers are supposed to use SAS drives they are meant to run in those environments and have some error correction logic that could have prevented all that.

Well I am going to get me some SAS drives and also maybe a few enterprise SSD to make AI stuff faster, I have yet to decide that, I may end up upgrading the server some more another 3090 GPU and some more ram, along with this storage should make it even more capable for AI workloads .

And what happens then ? I think even then I will keep the older server around, I will just not have it on unless my beast craps out or needs to be shut down .

I am a financial advisor ! If you can't take personal responsibility for you investing, I hate to brake it to ya, but you ain't nothing but a sucka, you supposed to lose your shit.

  • Invest only what you can afford to lose and be mindful of the potential risks.
  • Unless you can accept delivery stay away from futures and stick to physical.
  • Leverage is a great tool for losing money fast.
  • Numismatics for the lows stick to smart stacking baby.
  • Be cautious of new schemes in crypto, like ICOs, DeFi, and NFTs, do your research before investing.
