Web3 Will Be Superior for User Experience
Much talk has been going on about web3 as a buzz word but unlike the Metaverse buzz I feel web3 holds a stronger purpose and it's something that these mega corps can't take from us. At it's core web3 is taking web2 to the next level in terms of privacy, rewarding users who use and create content for the platform and overall faster payments and just a better user experience.
The Current Issues
With web2 we saw the introduction of social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and the likes. Don't get me wrong it was a huge step forward in the evolution of the internet. But something started to go very wrong these last few days. Mega corps started stealing, spying and selling your information and your content and continued to abuse users with shadowbans, terminations over simply having an alternative view and so on. It's seriously become a threat to freedom of speech, privacy and overall freedoms in general.
Thus the dawn of web3 has been talked about and to be perfectly clear it's still years away from becoming mainstream. But what we are doing is building the foundation of that and in building that foundation we need to get it right.
Many current issues with web3 at the moment are the same issues of web2. Currently we are building dapps which connect the user to the blockchain but the complicated nature of understanding all of this, losing keys and so forth have really killed or stagnated growth. For some reason dapps programing has become more important over UI and easy user onboarding and it's a major Achilles heel to web3 right now.
The Next Moves
Make no mistake about it the next moves we see this year are either going to fuel adoption and give us that real web3 experience we all want or it's simply going to turn into the web2 but some patched up limited option system we are currently seeing take shape.
This is where I feel Hive shines and the ability for Hive to do a little development to push us to that next level. Just like we had smart contracts we need smart tokens.
What the heck is a smart token? Just like we are seeing with Dapps and bridges etc. a smart token would do this via a smart token interface that connects to other tokens, user agents along with web services and web2 and web3 platforms.
For deeper perspective a user would hold their tokens in their wallet. This represents who they are, own and what rights they have. This tokenized system puts the user in control of where and when to use them on what application across the entire web. It will be the acting force for access, what does that mean? A token would be used to flow from one site to the next and that token or tokens represents who you are. There would be no more sign up or sign in processes. Simply having that token or tokens proves ownership and who you are without reveling any real information about you. This brings privacy to a all new level, fluidness across the web and allow the user to decided where they connect, disconnect and so forth.
What are you thoughts on what web3 will look like?
