Weavers are striking in colour, pretty little birds. They build elaborate nests, usually suspended from the ends of twigs. In this case, perhaps right above the water's surface. You can't see it directly in the photo, but it was taken from the observation point on Lake Panic in Kruger and I remember it well.
I can imagine that when a flock of such granivorous birds swoops down on a field, the farmers are not happy. However, I've usually only seen a few pairs of them and that's the norm with this species.
Snovači jsou barvou nápadní, hezcí drobní ptáci. Pletou si důkladná hnízda, obvykle zavěšená na koncích větviček. V tomto případě třeba přímo nad vodní hladinou. Na fotce to sice přímo není vidět, ale je to foceno z pozorovatelny na jezeře Lake Panic v Krugru a dobře si na to pamatuji.
Dovedu si představit, že když se takové hejno zrnožravých ptáčků vrhne na pole, tak z toho zemědělci nemají radost. Nicméně jsem jich viděl obvykle jen několik párů a u tohoto druhu je to tak standard.
