Making a gown outfit for my friend with wrap upper bodice for first Sunday of the month service
Hello everyone
It's a beautiful Monday and I wish you a new week, I bring you greetings on this lovely day, I hope you all had a great weekend and fully prepared for this new week as we will be sharing beautiful and creative design of our needle work activities with the community. It s with great pleasure that I will be sharing with you from my sewing room the cutting and sewing process of this simple and beautiful gown outfit for my friend for the first Sunday of the month service in church.
Every first Sunday of the month is always a thanksgiving service in church as we all gathered to celebrate and appreciate God for the precious month and the beginning of a new one, for the celebration of this Sunday, my friend decided to put on a new outfit and contacted me to make one for her.
I decided to make a wrap top for my friend because she is a breastfeeding mother, this particular design will make it easier for her to breastfeed her baby and it also looks good on her just as she wanted it to be simple and elegant.
Join me in the cutting and sewing process of this simple and beautiful outfit.
To cut out the upper bodice, the first thing I did was to draft out the upper bodice on a brown paper before being transferred to the main fabric
The main fabric was turned to the other side and I cut out the other part of the front bodice with lining and it was sewn together to turn the neckline
The bodice were placed together to complete the front bodice
For the back bodice, I cut out a basic back bodice with zipper allowance, it was also turned with lining and sewn together
The front and back were sewn together to make a complete upper bodice
The upper bodice was set aside and I went ahead to cut out the lower part of the gown, first, i cut out the front by folding the main fabric in two with the hip measurements, I marked the waist, hip and full length of the gown ad it was cut out
The front was placed on another folded fabric and I cut out back part with inverted slit
I cut out lining for the lower part of the gown and it was used to turned it before i was sewn together
The upper bodice was sewn to the lower part of the gown to make a full gown
From the remaining fabric was used to cut out a stylish sleeve
Finally, the sleeves were sewn to the armhole circumference and I have this beautiful outfit for my friend.
To make it a bit stylish, I made two rope in front inform of tie to be tied in front an you can see how beautiful it is.
I hope you like the stylish and beautiful outcome just as my friend love and appreciate the simplicity of the gown.
