Happy new month to you all on this beautiful Saturday, I hope you are all doing great an having a beautiful weekend. Last month was amazing for me with you all for your support, comment, encouragement and time spent to make sure my work is appreciated, you did so well and I want to say a big thank you, this month as well, I promise to share with you beautiful sewing craft and I'm sure you will like them as always. Today, I will be sharing with you the making of this simple and useful pin holder i made from scrap fabric.
As a seamstress, this is one of the needlework accessory we all need to have in our sewing room, recently, I observed that after using my hand needle and thread to fix a button on my project for the final outcome, the remaining thread in the needle will be removed and wasted, then I decided to leave the thread in the needle but there was another challenge as where to keep them then again I thought of making this pin holder to hold each pin with the remaining thread in it for future use, I also made a handle to it so as to hang it on the wall.
Let me take you through the cutting and sewing process of this simple pin holder I made from scrap fabric.
The first thing I did was to draft out a circle pattern for the intended size, since i needed a small size, I cut out a circle of 3.5 inches for the diameter, it was folded in two then in 3 to form a cone shape
The cone shape was placed on pieces of fabric to cut out 6 pieces 3 from each fabric
It was taken to the sewing machine where I sew 2 pieces from both fabric together
Others were sewn together as well on after the other until the last piece to make a circle
I placed it on another fabric to cut out the other side
Both fabric were placed together right side to right side and it was sewn round on my sewing machine leaving an opening where it can be turned to the right side
It was turned to the right side through the opening and i have some fiber which was used to fll it up
I cut out a small piece for the handle and it was sewn to the opening for it to be easily hanged on wall
This is the final and beautiful outcome, finally,I have all my pin with thread fixed on it with a small silver embellishments to cover the middle.
I hope you like the beautiful outcome, you can make one for yourself from those scrap fabric you no longer need.
