Hello Sketchbook Artists
I wanted this piece to feel clean but still carry some character, so I focused on the structure of the face, the eyes, and the way the hair frames everything. The hatching helped me build the darker areas without taking away from the lighter parts of the drawing. I kept some lines loose and visible because I like seeing the process in the finished work, it gives the portrait a bit more personality.
