First off: I'm a certified fat boy, more than 10% over my ideal body weight. Not listed as obese (though I've been as much as 20% over) I fight a never ending struggle with weight. That started when I turned 50 or so...
Second: You've got a little bit of 'apples and oranges' in your argument. There are very strict rules for the declaration of a pandemic and one of those is speed and another is transmissibility. Rubbing up against me, using my toilet or even sex with me will NOT make you fat. You have to do that all by yourself. You also have many, many warning signs and opportunity to not be obese that you have to ignore in order to eat enough to 'get 'er done'.
Not that I'm arguing at all. Not even a teensy bit. The hype and overkill on reporting is nothing short of amazing. Believe it or not, the 'experts' have been waging a long term battle against the epidemic of obesity in the US. With perilously little help from the government. For instance: Ketchup is considered a serving of vegetable (s) in the US public school system. You can thank our esteemed climate envoy John Kerry and others. Kerry is married to the heir of Heinz, the largest maker of ketchup on earth. How does that make you feel about the chances of reversing climate change for small steps? I'd be scared shitless in all honesty.
I'm vaccinated. But I have no problems with somebody, anybody, who refuses the vaccine fully knowing the possible repercussions of their decision. The ones that piss me off are the ones that think it's a hoax because their medical expert on TickTock said so that get sick and die. It takes a lot of resource credits (as it were) for people to die nowadays. Risk assessment is legit. I ride a motorcycle. Stupid is hard for me to justify.
Urrrrggggghhhhh. I think perhaps in this case it isn't only in 'merica.
