Kittitas County is geographically huge with a teeny population. Those 18 young men left a mark, to be sure. The Stonehenge replica was built by Jim Hill, owner of the Great Northern Rail Road. He loved the area, and in fact built a mansion for his wife a couple of miles away. She didn't like the area so he built her a place in Seattle. It's now a really quite nice art Museum.

For my money, Prescott, AZ has the best courthouse square in Arizona. Another big place with a small population and a monument to the locals that fell in every war since the Spanish American. There was a company of Arizona cowboys with Teddy Roosevelt in Cuba... It's a beautiful and solemn setting.
