RE: Green Weekend
The RV sites at BCotG are mostly paved and much more 'side accessible'. The 'dry camp' lot has quite a little green between and around, the 'full hookups' lot has way more asphalt than dirt :) Wolf Creek

RE: Blue, green and blue-green
First off, I get the difference. Just a little needle for the Jeffe. Cause I can. Second, I really get the 'where I've been' and where do I go thing. In doing my post I realized that Black Canyon of the

RE: Green Weekend
I understand 'no Trespassing' in some times and places. Everybody should not necessarily be allowed unfettered access to every place. However, most 'no tresspassing' signs are put up for no apparent reason

Well, I have to admit. That's pretty damn close to two photographs. :) They are of course, magnificent photographs. I think I like blue the best. Maybe.

RE: Wolf Creek OR to Lane Creek OR
I did return on my way home. It was sort of accidental, but I spent another night at this very campground going south. Turned out to be a really cool stay. Stuff always has a way of working out, it seems.

RE: [Week 120] Weekend-Engagement concept
So. It's your fault. You just have to torture me with rule breaking possibilities. Green? Blue? Camping? I can even put naked in the same photo. A deer (not dear) that is 'Buck Naked' indeed. I presume

Ahahahahahaha. When I was a young man (or maybe old boy) I hitchhiked around the Western US with a guy that was an indigenous Guatemalan. I was 6'4" and he was maybe 5'2". We'd post up at a place

I'm a little sporadic here. I'm also the master of understatement :) I'm not sure why, but I've gone through a fundamental shift in my time allocation, and so less spent on hive. Not that I don't believe

I did some research while I was recovering at my brother's place (turns out to be the next stop. And the official free Oregon map is the best in the west) and it would have added over 100 miles to my trip

Ohhhh, boy. Can relying on local shops ever be hit or miss. You probably don't know, but you can hardly get a decent cup of coffee in Utah. Mormons don't drink coffee so they have no incentive to make

RE: Think like a Viking: Part sixty
We all die, there is absolutely no denying the fact; but do we all truly live? Short answer there is no. Most never even get a taste of life. Too much fear. Some live vicariously through people like you

RE: Ready To Drink Starbucks In The Middle of Nowhere
Hey ya Mac! I have a love/hate with Starbucks. I think their coffee is wildly over rated and their OTC products are not the peak of the trade. But they are readily available and pretty consistent. Yes,

RE: Stepping Up My Flint Game
What a great post! Flint and steel is a serious survival tool. I have a small (a little bit larger than a credit card) kit that I've been carrying for years and years. A flint rod, a teeny knife with a

I went to the same campground on the way home. This time I was just completely used up, all I wanted was to get set up and to bed. The next time I chose a completely different site. This one was next to

RE: Wolf Creek OR to Lane Creek OR
It was beautiful, I think :) I was sitting on my camp chair in a chain up area when a flock of at least 10 goldfinches flew into a pine tree all at once. I didn't even have the energy to take my phone

Oh, shit. I got meters and kilometers confused in my head. That shot was better than 1600 yards. Damn. I'm even more impressed.

A two-fer at 650 yards (rough calculation)? That's some serious shooting-per the norm for you. So it was a deer infestation. Not what I'd call it but he did see four different deer. Different situation

Ahahahaha. It gets even worse. 3 different 'pop fasteners' in the mix. Guess which one I broke? Yep, the one I don't have a back up for :) I'll have that size in my 'motorcycle bits' box by the next time
