Black Poplar cuttings

A couple of days ahead of the deadline, the farm is officially clean. even though it isn´t 100% done, it is clean enough to be considered clean.
outside the farm is a different story though.
the council strimmers have not showed up yet to clean the very overgrown sides of the road.
finally having some time to spare and the knowing they will be here any day now, brings me the thought I should go and harvest some Black Poplar cuttings for the nursery.

growing near the road, they will all be cut down once strimming is done.

I only take the longest and thickest branches, where more energy is stored. energy that will maintain the cuttings alive while roots are being formed.

I could not help picking up some roadside garbage on my way back. this garbage would otherwise be transformed into micro plastics as the guys cleaning do not really care and just ignore any garbage lying around.

I have taken about 25 cuttings and left them in water for the time being to be processed and planted all together in a large pot until roots are formed and they are then planted separately in individual pots.
this is an "after lunch" job when the nursery is in full shade.
