I finally did it!! and it was the best fucking experience ever. I took a short 4 day trip to Pondicherry with my best friend who's pretty much a lazy bum I had to pester her a lot to get her onboard 馃槀, India and I decided to get a Basic Scuba Diving Certification done and it was the best decision ever.

Scuba Diving In India
Since this was my 1st time doing a proper dive I decided to go for the Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) Course which Temple Adventures in Pondicherry provides, the best part about this course is that you DO NOT NEED TO KNOW SWIMMING and I don鈥檛 really know swimming but I can manage sort off. (Visit The Link Mentioned Above To Know About The Various Courses & Certifications They Provide)
The DSD Course is off 2 days that include 1 Theory session, 1 Swimming Pool training session, 1 Sea Dive. You will experience a whole new world whilst wearing a scuba equipment with one of their Instructors and diving to a maximum depth of 12m (40 Ft) into the Bay of Bengal.
You will be able to view and explore beautiful corals and fantastic marine life. You will have Underwater photos & videos taken of you or your family & friends whilst scuba diving and the best part is that a Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) certificate of completion will be issued to you following your experience which allows you to dive for 1 year to a maximum depth of 12 meters (40 Ft) with a PADI Professional.

In Day 1 you will be given a brief theory session which covers all the underwater hand signs and basic knowledge of the equipment鈥檚 you鈥檒l be wearing also you will be given a pool session (6 Ft) where you will be taught basic scuba diving skills which you must pay attention to. This entire session of Day 1 will wrap up within 2-3 hours
Day 2 includes the ocean dive, where first you will take a jeep to the jetty and you will be given a few basic instructions and then on you will board the boat and head over to Temple Reef which is about 6 KM from the shore where you will take your very first dive at a maximum depth of 12 meters (40ft), you will be taken to Temple Reef.
Temple Reef is among the pioneer reefs of Pondicherry, built by Temple Adventures team in October 2013 and spans a massive 40 x 40 square meters, this dive site was built purely by hand by the team. Built using rocks, concrete, cars, scooters, palm leaves, metal structures, trees, and various ropes afloat, this reef is home to the widest variety of marine life in Pondicherry. The reef that begins at a depth of just 5 meters, is suitable for beginners bot swimmers and non-swimmers to veteran divers.
The dive session in the ocean will be upto 25-30 minutes max depending on the Oxygen Level in your tank.
Once you are done with your course you will be issued a PADI certificate of completion which allows you to Dive Anywhere In The World at a maximum depth of 12 meters (40ft) with a PADI Professional for one year. This entire session of Day 2 will wrap up within 5-6 hours.
Preparing Yourself Before The Dive
- Apply adequate Sunscreen on your face, arms and legs as you will not be wearing a full body diving suit, Only a half body diving suit will be given. I've used The Minimalist Silymarin SPF 60 Sunscreen and worked pretty well for me and i've layered it with a Cetaphil Face & Body Moisturiser.
Rinse your Hair in fresh water before your dive this ensures that your hair absorbs the freshwater and not so much the salt water.
After your dive it is really important to make sure you wash off all the residual salt immediately from your hair.

My Personal Reviews
The experience from start to finish was phenomenal, from the briefings to the hands on sessions everything was extremely well organised. It was definitely worth Rs 7,670 ($ 100) Inclusive of taxes
It was so peaceful at the bottom of the ocean, It's something I don't think I can really put into words you know ? It's something you'll just have to experience for yourself but I promise you it's totally worth it.
P.S the entire trip including this course was paid for using my earning from HIVE 鉂わ笍
Not really happy with the images and videos they shot uggh, They were using a really expensive Olympus Camera so I assumed we'd be getting better images 馃槶 but never mind.
I've mentioned pretty much all the details you'll need to know about this Diving Session if y'all ever plan on dropping by Pondicherry, India so I am 500% sure this post will be super useful to you guys so go ahead and bookmark it as well. Hands down one of the best things i've done in a really long time 馃
