I dunno if it gets easier necessarily, I know my mum still cries when she loses one and it puts a lot of strain on her. Sometimes they just need to take a break from it for a little bit to recover I guess.
I help out as much as I can but just being a helper means I can step back if it gets too much.
I imagine it has a high rate of suicide along with veterinarians but I didn't find any stats on it.
