Russian police have arrested scientists working at a nuclear facility for mining bitcoin with the countries best super computer.
The Nuclear Centre based in Sarov, western Russia, is a highly restricted area.
A spokesman for the facility said... "There has been an unsanctioned attempt to use computer facilities for private purposes including so-called mining."
To prevent a cyber intrusion of sensitive information the super computer is usually not connected to the internet.
The scientists attempted to do so, and the nuclear plants security was alerted. They were handed over to police and face lengthy prison sentences .
