Will the shadow really be, besides the dark setting, the dark side of our inner self?

Is it a confrontation that always accompanies us but never gets a way to reach its goal?

And if they are our fears, our insecurities, and all that negative aspect that refuses to move away from us but cannot consume us in its entirety, because of the light that always accompanies us.
