on its way elsewhere and
nowhere, in particular.
a second glance
somewhere down time’s highway,
slower,
faltering,
questioning a forgotten second’s familiarity.
Another gaze
deeper
eyes pause, and hold together
searching
accepting
the veracity of the marvelous mirage
on life’s road.
