Esperanza – Lo último que se pierde. // Hope - The last thing to lose.

Hola amigos, siempre hemos escuchado esa frase que dice “La esperanza es lo último que se pierde” pero en muchos casos no sabemos de donde proviene, al ver el tema de este mes de la comunidad @Emotions&Feelings en lo primero que pensé fue en esta expresión, así que me puse a investigar y me enteré que tiene relación con la caja de Pandora ya que fue lo último que quedo en ella, es un mito de cuando los Dioses convivían con los humanos y por alguna razón la esperanza se encontraba en la caja junto con los otros males de la humanidad. Al comunicarle lo sucedido a Prometeo y a su marido, Epimeteo, Pandora les dijo que lo único a lo que siempre podrían recurrir era a la Esperanza, pues era lo único que quedaba en la caja y por lo tanto, lo último que se podría perder.

Ahora bien, para muchas personas tener esperanza no es algo malo, es más, tener la creencia que lo que deseamos se cumplirá en algún momento, es una manera de sentirnos animados y con ganas de seguir adelante, es importante para no caer en la desesperación.

La palabra Esperanza viene de esperar, del latín sperare (tener esperanza) y esta de spes, esperanza.

Según Isidoro de Sevilla “La palabra esperanza se llama así porque viene a ser como el pie para caminar, como si dijéramos: es pie (spes).

Entonces como dije anteriormente nos mantiene activos para seguir trabajando por nuestras metas, sino tuviéramos pies no podríamos caminar, entonces lo mismo pasa con la esperanza sino contáramos con ella entonces que sentido tendría seguir trabajando para algo que sabemos que no vamos a lograr u obtener, no, nos esforzaríamos por las cosas que deseamos. Por ejemplo: cuando queremos un empleo, nos preparamos para la entrevista y hacemos todo lo necesario para quedar bien en ella, salimos de ahí con la esperanza de ser ganadores del puesto que queremos, sino existiera la esperanza ni siquiera iríamos a la entrevista. Yo me imagino que no tener esperanzas es como no tener ganas de vivir.

Para mí la esperanza está muy relacionada a la fe y la fe relacionada con Dios, así que la mayoría de las cosas las dejo en mano de Dios confiando en él y esperando que se cumpla lo que más me conviene. Yo se que ese seria otro punto porque tener fe es creer en un ser supremo todopoderoso al que le pedimos por nuestras necesidades teniendo la esperanza de que vamos a ser escuchados. No todas las personas tienen las mismas creencias pero sin embargo pueden llegar a tener esperanza, es algo confuso pero para mi van de la mano la fe y la esperanza. Entonces para culminar, si estoy de acuerdo con el dicho “La esperanza es lo último que se pierde” siempre hay que esperar que algo bueno suceda. En este momento se me ocurrió llevar el tema a la situación mundial actual. En tiempos de pandemia nos hemos mantenido a la expectativa de las acciones de los gobiernos para contrarrestar el virus, son situaciones en las que no podemos hacer nada, lo único que nos queda es tener la esperanza que en algún momento saldremos de esta pesadilla, que se tomaran las mejores medidas y mientras ese día llega pues seguimos cuidando de nuestra salud y la de nuestra familia.

So, as I said before, it keeps us active to continue working for our goals, if we did not have feet, we could not walk, so the same thing happens with hope if we did not count on it, then what sense would it make to continue working for something that we know that we are not going to achieve or obtain, no, we would strive for the things we want. For example: when we want a job, we prepare for the interview and do everything necessary to look good in it, we leave there with the hope of being winners of the position we want, if there were no hope, we would not even go to the interview. I imagine that not having hope is like not wanting to live.

For me, hope is closely related to faith and faith related to God, so I leave most of the things in the hands of God, trusting in him and hoping that what is best for me will be fulfilled. I know that that would be another point because having faith is believing in an all-powerful supreme being to whom we ask for our needs, hoping that we will be heard. Not all people have the same beliefs but nevertheless they can come to have hope, it is somewhat confusing but for me faith and hope go hand in hand. So to finish, if I agree with the saying "Hope is the last thing to be lost" you always have to wait for something good to happen. At this point it occurred to me to bring the issue to the current world situation. In times of pandemic we have been waiting for the actions of governments to counteract the virus, these are situations in which we cannot do anything, the only thing we have left is to hope that at some point we will get out of this nightmare, that The best measures will be taken and while that day arrives, we continue to take care of our health and that of our family.
