The FIFA World Cup is a Football or Soccer Tournament held every 4 years. The last world cup was held in Russia in 2018, and the next one will be in Qatar in 2022.
The last time the World Cup was held in Asia was in 2002, and it was co-organized by Japan and South Korea. There is a plan to bring the tournament back to Asia, but to the southern side of Asia called the ASEAN Region.
This region consists of 11 Countries, namely Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Brunei, Phillipines, Laos, Indonesia and East Timor. These countries has made a move to joint-bid the next FIFA World Cup in 2034.
If FIFA does give this tiny region a chance to co-organize a tournament of such magnitude, it will be a quite remarkable feat, and its good to propel the regions economy further with the influx of tourist.
It will be great achievement, but a dream that is almost immpossible in my opinion. But who knows what will happen by then, maybe the people in FIFA will open up their eyes and minds to give this region something to celebrate for.
