I'm a bit of a social hermit when the winter draws in. Just the mere thought of being out in the wind and the rain sends a shiver down my spine.
Hibernation sets in as soon as the cold weather makes an appearance. So providing the heating is on high enough at home, that my bones are able to move from beneath my thick knitted jumpers and knee high socks, I like to use this time to experiment with shooting at home using ambient light. I'm so used to using my strobes at the studio, that's it's nice to mix it up a bit and play around with different light sources.
This shot was taken in my living room, with just a table lamp and a small amount of light coming through the window, from behind the curtains.
I shot the image in HDR, as it was something I hadn't really played about with before (or much since for that matter)and I was keen to see its effects. It gave almost a painterly feel to this image which I love.
I've been so lost in the world of pinup and boudoir at the studio recently. I think it may be high time I revisit HDR and push my creative boundaries a little more. I would love to try out a little more fine art photography!
