It was one of those moments where the light really catches your eye and you just have to take advantage of it before it's gone.
As I approached my desk at home to begin my days work, the sunlight poured through the patio doors and shone through my rattan chair. It created such a strong grid pattern that beautifully played with the contours of my arm as I sat in the chair. I just couldn't resist taking a few minutes to capture a some self portraits, using just my iPhone.
I opened up the free Adobe Lightroom app on my phone, as I wanted full control over all of the camera settings to create a strong contrast with black shadows.
I set the ISO at 25, lens 23mm, f stop 2.2, shutter speed 1/1000s, which seemed to do the trick.
I then, quite literally, spent no more than just a few short minutes taking some shots and was thrilled with the results.
After seeing what can be done with just a 5 minute impromptu photoshoot session, I feel inspired to challenge myself to do more. This is the real beauty of modern technology, we always have a camera in our pockets to capture any given moment in time. I think that's such a wonderful thing!
