Hey internet people, how are you? Today I want to talk to you about a movie that many of you have probably seen, and if so, this review is sure to trigger some nostalgia 馃構 It's called Parent Trap, or The Twins Game, as we know it in this part of the world. This movie, starring Lindsay Lohan, tells the story of Hallie and Annie, twin sisters separated by their parents' divorce (a very questionable situation, I know, but sometimes Disney doesn't take its plots seriously, hehe). One was raised by her father in the USA and the other by her mother in London, but they meet at a summer camp in California. When they see each other and discover the truth, they devise a perfect plan to impersonate each other and meet the parent they've been missing. Things get complicated when they're discovered, especially since both girls hate their father's new girlfriend, a frivolous and materialistic woman. So they hatch another plan, this time to reunite their parents.

Hoy quiero hablarles de una pel铆cula que seguramente muchos de ustedes vieron y si es as铆 seguro esta review les va a activar la nostalgia 馃構 se trata de Parent Trap o Juego de Gemelas, como la conocemos en esta parte del mundo. Esta pel铆cula protagonizada por Lindsey Lohan nos cuenta la vida de Hallie y Annie, un par de hermanas gemelas que fueron separadas por sus padres cuando se divorciaron (algo muy cuestionable, lo s茅, pero a veces Disney no se toma las tramas en serio, jeje) el caso es que una fue criada por su padre en USA y la otra por su madre en Londres, pero ambas coinciden en un campamento de verano en California, pero cuando se ven y descubren la verdad las dos trabajan en un plan perfecto para suplantar a la otra y as铆 conocer al padre o a la madre que no conocen, todo se complica al ser descubiertas, en especial porque ambas ni帽as odian a la nueva novia de su padre, una mujer fr铆vola y materialista, as铆 vuelven a urdir un plan, en esta ocasi贸n para volver a unir a sus padres.
Although, as I mentioned, the plot is weak and quite questionable, it's not something that should be taken too seriously in a Disney children's or youth film. It's made mostly to make you laugh at the events that unfold, and in that respect, it works quite well because there are many hilarious mix-ups 馃槃. The acting was brilliant, as were the camera shots, which undoubtedly helped to create the illusion that there really were two identical girls on set.
A pesar de que como les digo la trama es floja y bastante cuestionable, no es algo que se deba tomar demasiado en cuenta en una pel铆cula de corte juvenil o infantil de Disney, est谩 hecha m谩s que todo para que r铆as con los acontecimientos que van sucediendo, y en eso s铆 que funciona bastante bien porque hay muchos enredos hilarantes 馃槃, las actuaciones estuvieron brillantes al igual que los planos de c谩mara que sin duda ayudaron a recrear la ilusi贸n de que realmente hab铆a dos ni帽as id茅nticas en el set.
On the other hand, while we may question the decision of parents to separate their twin daughters, inevitably giving up one of them, we also cannot ignore the fact that the film aimed to explore the issue of divorce and how children perceive this separation. It suggests that divorce doesn't mean abandoning family; on the contrary, it's when families should remain closest. And that is precisely what the twins do: they join forces to combat situations that threaten family stability, and this leads them to understand each other more and more.
Por otra parte a pesar de que podemos cuestionar el hecho de que unos padres hayan decidido separar a sus hijas gemelas, renunciando inevitablemente a una de sus hijas, tampoco podemos ignorar el hecho de que la pel铆cula pretend铆a analizar el tema del divorcio y como los hijos perciben esa separaci贸n, que divorciarse no significa tener que renunciar a la familia, al contrario, es cuando m谩s unidas deben permanecer. Y eso es precisamente lo que hacen als gemelas, unen fuerzas para combatir las situaciones que amenazan la estabilidad familiar, y esto hace que se entiendan cada vez m谩s la una a la otra.
I'd like to see the original 60s film because I understand this is actually a remake, but I really liked the way Lohan portrayed both characters, each very different: Hallie is more impulsive and extroverted, while Annie is somewhat more reserved and refined (a clear stereotype of Londoners 馃槃).
Me gustar铆a ver la pel铆cula original de los 60 porque tengo entendido que este es en realidad un remake, pero me gust贸 mucho la manera en la que Lohan interpret贸 a ambos personajes, cada una muy diferente Hallie m谩s impulsiva y extrovertida mientras que Annie es un tanto m谩s recatada y fina (claro estereotipo de los londinenses 馃槃)
And how could I overlook the soundtrack? Ahhhhh! I loved it, I adored it, but especially the song There She Goes that plays when Hallie arrives in London for the first time to meet her mother.
Y como pasar por alto el soundtrack 隆Ahhhhh! lo am茅, me encantaba pero en especial la canci贸n There She Goes que suena cuando Hallie llega a Londres por primera vez a conocer a su madre.
