This Spring, March certainly came in like a lion.
On March 3rd of 2023, we experienced a rather spectacular wind storm, the likes of which are rare to Tennessee. Winds were clocked at up to 85 mph.
We came through it with much less damage than many others did. But we did lose one of our shade trees.
The tree that was taken down was a Poplar Tulip Tree. This happens to be our State tree, but that did not help it much.
We had our tree guy come out and take care of the fallen tree for us.
After which we were left with a bare spot.
My wife had already picked up a tree so we decided to place it in the same spot.
This tree is a River Birch tree. It will grow to 40-50 ft and will eventually provide some nice shade.
My wife had actually picked up two trees.
The other tree is a Red maple.
I have always liked the Red maple because it is very distinctive with its awesome colors.
This one we planted in our front yard.
My grandson is standing in front of this new tree.
So, as in the title, We lost one tree but we planted two. I am sure my jungle dwelling friend,
