How to measure productivity...How do we know if business or person or service work give us that what we need or...are we understanding what we measure? When we judge our businesses about level of productivity, we actually apply our mental models of judgement. How do we know if that models correct and what other models exist...or not exist. We can give productiveness at 100% but output will be at 50%. Productivity affects by the external environment also. So that what we try to measure, it is usually part of the biggest picture. It can be affected by the other people, policies, preferences, trends, even by the small things like rain or sun, it can be affected. So that what we can measure, are not measurable. We can only closely initiate some for of productivity what we want to see, but in same time it doesn't give as guarantee...you know...your form, your problem and no body doesn't cares about it. So realistically we can only initiate model of productivity, but implementation will be non-ending. There always will be factors of control, against our desired model of production. From inputs until outputs, there will be control. From zero value to added value, there will be control. To be productive, businesses has to understand that it is never ending game of fixation underperformance parts of the business and always market monitoring against peoples preferences. As more you know as better, because some knowledge you can use to fix productivity level. In same time your education can play against you, because new market models coming into business every week and your old model of thinking will be rejecting everything new. To be productive, keep always question yourself, about everything what comes to your business and what affects your business. Ask main questions: who, why and how my business benefit from it. Ask always yourself why you doing this production and why you need this production and how you benefit from your production model.
