Studios and paper backgrounds might become quite boring too soon.
Unless you are a creative. If to be completely honest it's hard to become boring with characters. And every person has one, so look for it. There are zillions of studio portraits and even though they are all shot in a similar setting at the same time they are all so different. Because of individuals and characters.
If that is not enough, or if your character is dull enough (we are not all superstars) employ a few simple accessories. Employ complex and custom made accessories if you have access to it. But if you do not, add a little detail. A little detail in a simple setting will stand out while in a more complex environment it will be lost.
Pay that detail special attention. Light it. Like in this case we did with a pair of fancy sunglasses. Reflections make for a nice anchor.
