Kayle is a "partly" ranged champion so she can be a lanebully in the right matchup. Melee chamions that have a weak laning phase can be countered by Kayle (like Moakai, Nautilus or many other tanks. In matchups like this Kayle can poke the enemy over and over and keep him from farming and getting xp. Furthermore if Kayle manages to kill the enemy she can easily push the minion waves under the enemy's turret and denyma lot of farm.
