Continuing my learning about this wonderful game, which I have been sharing with you in my posts, I understood that it was necessary, for a deeper understanding of the battles, to study specifically all the elements that a card presents.
The cards from Gods Unchained carry a lot of information in their body that is extremely useful in the assembly of the deck and at the moment of the battle, so the knowledge of such is an important initial step for better results.
Thus, in today's post, we will talk in a more in-depth and specific way about reading the cards, what are the statuses that a card presents, what information, what we should be aware of, among other topics.
And here we go.
Gods Unchained, as you can see in the first games, is a dynamic game that has an infinite number of cards and various possibilities for building decks and playing styles.
Considering that we have already dealt in another post about the Gods, which can be checked directly in the previous post through this link, it is important now to move on to a second step in learning, in this case, studying a little about the cards.
The study of the cards, as well as the information that they present us with, proves to be interesting not only for building the deck, but also for the battlefield, because by knowing the status of your card you can decide, for example, which of your cards is more advantageous to the attack of an enemy card.
Without this you could spare more than one attack on the same enemy card, or even see one of your creatures defeated unnecessarily when another creature could simply defeat the opposing creature without much difficulty.
So in order to decide which card to use and at what time we need to read its information, which is fully present in the body of the card itself.
Below I present a card of a creature as an example, having identified with numbers the fields that, in my opinion, are more important to be studied, let's see:
1 - In the upper left corner of the card we have 2 characteristics together about the card, the first of them is the numeral (5) that identifies the amount of mana needed to summon the card on the battlefield, that is, you need to have 5 mana to put this card in play. The second characteristic is that it identifies which God the card belongs to, which is identified by the color and "design" of the card, and in the case of the example card it belongs to the Goddess of Death, remembering that each God has a different color and that the neutral cards can be used by any God, see below:
2 - The second item (number 2), located in the center of our example card, identifies what the rarity of the card is, which can be, in order of rarity from lowest to highest: common, rare, epic, legendary and mythic. According to the rarity of the card, it obviously has different characteristics from the others, and a legendary card will certainly be stronger or more useful than a common card, see below the colors that identify the rarity of the cards:
3 - In the lower left corner we have the identification of the strength of the card. The strength corresponds to the damage that the card will cause the opposing creature when attacking. With this information you can calculate if, with your attack, the enemy card will be defeated if its life is equal or less than your damage. The life of each of the cards is in item 5 and will be covered later.
4 - In the center of the bottom corner there is a field to identify which tribe the card belongs to. In the example card we can see that it belongs to the Amazon tribe, but there are several tribes, for example: Anubian, Atlantean, Olympian, Wild and others. The identification of the tribe is important, because some card abilities will only affect a certain type of tribe.
5 - In the lower right corner the card shows its life, which identifies how much of an adversary attack this card will support before being defeated, in the case of the example card we can see that it has 4 life, so if the opposing cards attack with damage up to 3 the same will not be defeated, remembering that the damage of the card is represented in item 3 as already discussed above.
6 - Inside the light gray square we have some very important information about each of the cards. In this field will be presented the skills and the effects of the card on the battlefield. In the case of the example card we see the information that, when summoned, it has the ability to destroy an opponent's creature with 3 or less life. In addition, the card also brings the information of an additional special ability only for the "amazon" tribe, so the importance of identifying the tribe, identifying that if you have another card of the amazon tribe on the battlefield your God will have his life restored to the same amount of damage caused to the opposing card destroyed by the roar ability.
7 - Among the colors that identify the rarity of the cards we have the name of the card, this is a feature easy and simple to identify, in this example the card is called "Amazon Hearteater
8 - This is the image that represents the card, the creature and/or its effect, Gods Unchained has excellent images and beautiful cards.
9 - At the end, in the upper right corner, we have item 9 which is the small drawing that identifies which set the card belongs to, and there are several card sets, among these: Genesis, Core, Etherbot, Promo Etc.
As you can see above the information that a card brings us is much greater than it seems, there are several small details that, if well understood, can help when assembling the deck and, above all, on the battlefield.
It is of utmost importance that before any attack you analyze both your card and the opponent's card to calculate if the attack will be successful or if it is the best card to attack the opponent's creature.
Many times one of your cards can, with its strength, cause enough damage to the opponent's card to defeat it, but the damage that the opponent's card will cause you will also cause the defeat of your card, so it is interesting to analyze if that is, in fact, the best card to use in the attack.
Despite this fact, we can not fail to always pay attention to the skills that the card has, because some certainly have incredible abilities, often even better than the eventual attack damage caused or life, which directly influence the outcome of the battle.
